Tesero (German obsolete Teser im Fleimstal) is an Italian comune (municipality) with 2999 inhabitants in the province of Trento, region Trentino-Alto Adige. It belongs to the valley community Comunità territoriale della Val di Fiemme.
The village is situated at 1000 m.a.s.l. on the orographic right side of the Val di Fiemme above the valley floor at the mouth of the Stava Valley, which is crossed by the Rio Stava and flows into the Val di Fiemme. Tesero extends at the foot of the Monti Cornacci 2166 m, which belong to the Val di Fiemme Alps.
On the valley floor of the Val di Fiemme, to the south, lies the hamlet of Lago with the cross-country skiing center of Lago di Tesero. The other two hamlets of Stava and the ski resort of Alpe di Pampeago, situated at the feet of the Latemar group, are both located north of Tesero in the Stava valley. To the north, the municipal area borders directly on the South Tyrolean municipality of Deutschnofen, which can be reached via the Passo di Pramadiccio (1413 m) and the Lavazèjoch (1808 m). Other neighboring communities are Predazzo, Varena, Panchià, Cavalese and Pieve Tesino.
Tesero belongs to the valley municipality of Fleims, founded in the 12th century. Between 1918 and 1963 the village had a station on the Fleims Valley Railway.
