Miscellaneous:
Built by Julius of the Medici family of Florence in 1560, the villa, attributed to Buontalenti or Francavilla, consists of two floors with gable windows in Pietra Serena, in typical Florentine style. The plan is rectangular, with two turrets at the ends of the facade and a gabled rear facade with staircase. The villa is part of the ADSI, Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane, Tuscany section. It was built at the end of the sixteenth century by Giulio dei Medici, the biological son of Alessandro de" Medici, who was in turn the biological son of Lorenzo, Duke of Urbino, and an African slave, and has been his residence since 1563, when he was appointed admiral of the Medici fleet in Porto Pisano (Livorno) by his uncle Cosimo I and a member of the Order of Knights of St. Stephen in 1563.
