Arabba is part of the municipality of Livinallongo del Col di Lana (Beech Stone) in the province of Belluno. The village is situated at 1602 m above sea level between the Pordoi and Campolongo passes, at the foot of the imposing Sella massif. The neighboring village of Corvara can be reached via the Campolongo Pass, and the nearby Val di Fassa can be reached via the Pordoi Pass.
With 63 kilometers of slopes and its connection to the world-famous Dolomiti Superski ski area, Arabba is one of the most popular winter sports centers in the Dolomites. State-of-the-art snow-making facilities guarantee the best slope conditions throughout the winter. As one of the four starting points for the Sellaronda, one of the most beautiful and famous ski tours in the entire Alpine region which connects the four Dolomite passes around the Sella massif, Arabba is probably known to every enthusiastic skier. From the ski area Porta Vescovo, the 2600 m high local mountain, you can reach the Marmolada "Queen of the Dolomites". There you can expect long and challenging downhill slopes and a unique view of the surrounding mountain peaks and Dolomite valleys.
Most of the accommodations in the village are located in the immediate vicinity of the ski lifts and allow easy access to the slopes.
In summer, Arabba is a popular starting point for hikes and climbs in the Sella and Marmolada areas. Mountain bikers and cyclists also get their money"s worth in the area. Particularly popular are the Sellaronda MTB Tour, the Sellaronda Bike Day and of course the South Tyrol Sellaronda Hero, the toughest mountain bike race in Europe.
