Lonely mountain hut in Falcade in the middle of the Dolomites

We offer a cozy and prestigious chalet on the San Pellegrino Pass between the villages of Falcade and Soraga di Fassa, in a charming and easily accessible location, just a stone"s throw from the ski lifts.
The newly renovated unit is unique and one of a kind. It enjoys a privileged sun exposure and offers priceless views. The chalet is spread over three levels and consists on the first floor of an eat-in kitchen with a modern pellet stove, a full bathroom and an interior staircase to the second floor, which is also accessible via the second barrier-free entrance. It also has a large living room with stunning views, a wood-burning fireplace, a relaxation corner with a Bang & Olufsen TV and, on the second and top floor, a bedroom with a double bed and a multi-room cable system. The rooms are all of undeniable elegance and alpine flair, made of solid wood and expertly crafted. The lodge is equipped with an autonomous battery-powered photovoltaic system and a diesel-powered electricity generator. Completing this spectacular offer in the midst of nature is a plot of over 6000 square meters and outdoor parking for exclusive use. This rare and valuable property is certainly suitable to be inhabited during the hot summer months, but also in winter, as it is accessible by a convenient paved road that is cleared all year round. It is also interesting as an investment for tourist use, since it is located near the ski slopes, the typical mountain huts or as a starting point for numerous high mountain tours.

More information on specific request. We will be happy to organize a visit appointment.

The Passo San Pellegrino (Fassa-Ladin Jouf de Sèn Pelegrin, German Sankt-Pelegrin-Pass) is a 1,918 meter high alpine pass in Trentino in Italy between Moena and Falcade. At the same time it forms the border area between Trentino and Veneto about four kilometers northwest of Falcade. The nearest main massifs of the Dolomites to the east of the pass are the Marmolata Group to the north and the Pale di San Martino to the south.

Some Stone Age artifacts found in the area of the top of the pass indicate that the crossing was already inhabited by humans in prehistoric times.
In the Middle Ages, a mule track led over the yoke, which was then called Monte Alloch. As can be seen on old road maps, this road primarily connected the Cordevoletal at Cencenighe Agordino via Moena and Predazzo with Auer (Ora) on the Brenner route. It was probably also used as a bypass route for the Rolle Pass, since this was quite dangerous in the Valle Travignolo.
The Passo San Pellegrino got its present name from the monks of the order "San Pellegrino", who founded a hospice on the top of the pass in 1358 "so that the people who cross Monte Alloch can be entertained there". During the First World War, the pass gained strategic importance; a road was built for the military, which was further developed for civilian purposes after the war. Hospice and an associated chapel were destroyed during World War I, but are now rebuilt.
Just a few kilometers south of Passo di San Pellegrino is Passo di Valles (2033 m), which leads from Falcade along the shortest route to the Rolle Pass road. Like many other pass roads in the Dolomites, the road over Passo di Valles was built as a military road during the First World War. More recently, it has been partially converted into a tourist road and is relatively passable, although less frequented than the route over Passo San Pellegrino. There is also evidence of Stone Age prehistory on Valles Pass, with numerous sites of flint implements and flakes on both sides of the pass.

The main tourist season is winter. The pass is located in the Trevalli ski area, which in turn is affiliated to the overarching Dolomiti Superski. A well-known downhill run is called Col Margherita. For this there is a cable car and several lifts. The area is also suitable for cross-country skiing - several trails have been laid out.
In summer, the Dolomite high trail no. 2 from Bressanone to Feltre, which leads over the Passo San Pellegrino, is followed. Furthermore, the rocks around the pass are climbing areas; a well-known peak is Cima Uomo. Mountain bikers are also on the move at the pass in summer.
