Malcesine - picturesque resort at the foot of Monte Baldo

Malcesine is a picturesque vacation resort on the eastern shore of Lake Garda that has preserved its charm despite heavy tourism. The town is overlooked by an imposing scaliger castle and has a medieval center with small squares, arched passageways and uneven cobblestone streets leading to the old harbor. South of the center stretches a beautiful waterfront promenade that runs along several lovely swimming spots to the lush Val di Sogno peninsula. To the north of the town there is a beach frequented by surfers and sailors. A cable car from Malcesine leads to the 1760 meter high Tratto Spino, a peak of Monte Baldo. From here you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the lake, which is surrounded by an impressive mountain landscape. The mountain station is an ideal starting point for hikes and mountain bike tours in the huge mountain massif.
